Position Open for Senior Scientific Editor, Molecular Plant

Molecular Plant is an international journal publishing significant findings in plant biology, focusing broadly on cellular biology, physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, development, plant-microbe interaction, genomics, bioinformatics, and molecular evolution. As one of the leading plant science journals, Molecular Plant is seeking one full-time, in-house Senior Scientific Editor to join its editorial team. The Senior Scientific Editors will be expected or trained to play roles in providing immediate and satisfactory supports to the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editor-in-Chief in all aspects of manuscript processing, which include but are not limited to the responsibilities listed below.
1.Assisting the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editor-in-Chief in evaluating/reviewing the submitted manuscripts.
2.Interacting with the leading scientists and inviting spotlights and review articles.
3.Writing academic news, preparing the advertise materials and promoting Molecular Plant globally in the plant biology community.

The qualified candidates are expected to be or have:
1.Ph.D. degree in plant science, genetics or other related subjects with more than two years of study or scientific research experience abroad.
2.Strong publication record in the recognized scientific journals. At least one publication as the first or corresponding author in the journals with impact factor (IF) >9.0 or two publications in the journals with IF>5.0 are required.
3.Good command of English and basic computer skills, and good communication skills with the scientists using English as the work language.
4.Broad scientific interests, the ability to critically think, and highly interested in the work of scientific editing.
5.Highly self motivated and creative, and strong sense of responsibility, collaboration and independence.

A competitive salary and benefits will be provided, depending on the background and experiences, according to the policy of Shanghai Institutes for Biological Science/Shanghai Information Center for Life Sciences (SIBS/SICLS), Chinese Academy of Sciences.
