4-28 《植生学报》招聘副主编

DEPUTY EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
Plant Molecular Physiology, Shanghai, China

Plant Molecular Physiology (former "Journal of Plant Physiology and Molecular Biology"), sponsored by the Chinese Society for Plant Physiology and Chinese Academy of Sciences, will be transformed into an international English journal starting in 2007. The editorial office in Shanghai is recruiting a Deputy Editor-in-Chief to manage the daily operation of the journal.

More specific duties include:
Initial screen of all the submitted manuscripts to determine suitability;
communicating with Editor-in-Chief to assign manuscripts to editors for review;
corresponding with authors and editors on reviews and decisions;
editing English of manuscripts as needed;
mediating interaction between editorial office and the publisher;
attending international conferences to promote the journal.

Potential candidates should have a PhD or equivalent in plant biology or related fields, extensive experience in preparing research manuscripts and/or proposals, strong publication record in English journals, and responsible and collaborative personality. The candidates must have good communication skills in both English and Chinese. Prior experience in scientific editing is a plus but not required.
